Small-Business Web Design

Web design for small businesses across the United States, working remotely with Daxton Weinbaum. Start with the decision your customer needs to make, then build the site around the information that supports it.

Give each page a job

A homepage introduces the business and points to the next step. A service page explains what is included and who it is for. A work page shows evidence, with permission. A contact page helps someone reach the right person.

One page can suit a focused offer. Separate pages are useful when services have different audiences, requirements or questions. More pages alone do not make a website more helpful.

Build a clear inquiry path

Choose the action that fits your workflow: a call, a written inquiry or an existing booking tool. Avoid promising instant replies unless the business can consistently provide them. Ask only for details needed to respond, and explain what happens after submission.

Test the journey on a phone. Check the phone link, required fields, error messages and confirmation. A form that looks complete still needs a controlled delivery test to a verified recipient.

Scope the work before comparing proposals

List the pages, content, integrations and migration requirements. Decide who will write the copy, prepare photographs and maintain the site. If an existing website has useful pages or links, include a URL inventory and a redirect plan before replacing it.

The website cost drivers guide explains how these decisions affect scope without substituting a generic number for a project estimate.

Plan for ownership and ongoing use

Document who owns the domain, where the site is hosted and how updates will happen. Keep business accounts under the business’s control. Agree on handoff materials, recurring services and support responsibilities before launch.

Use the domain and hosting handoff checklist. If you already have a website, the redesign-or-keep guide can help separate necessary fixes from optional design changes.

Talk through your website

Share your business, current website and what you want customers to do. Contact Daxton to discuss the project.
